Eco Day Trips
Ride the LARC! Discover the historic Bustard Head!

The LARC is a pink amphibious vehicle that takes you across crystal clear waterways, along endless stretches of sandy beaches to the isolated Bustard Headland. Discover the historic Bustard Head Light-station, Queenslands First Coastal Lighthouse and learn about the tales of tragedy and triumph of the light-keepers and their families. Enjoy spectacular panoramic views east across Bustard Bay to the Town of 1770 and west across to Pancake Creek. Soak up the idyllic beauty of deserted Jenny Lind Creek and for those with a true spirit of adventure; go sand-boarding down the towering sand dunes on Middle Island.

A LARC Paradise tour includes:

  • Morning tea of homemade cakes & goodies
  • Guided walk to the light-station and graveyard
  • Picnic lunch, damper and billy tea in coastal rainforest
  • Coastal ecology walk along the foreshore of Jenny Lind Creek
  • Sand-boarding on Middle Island
  • Tour duration: 9.00am Ð 4.00pm

Our Sunset Cruise is a one hour joyride on the LARC that takes in Round Hill Creek across to Eurimbula National Park. Learn all about the history of the Town of 1770 since Cook stepped ashore two hundred years ago and watch the magnificent sunset over Bustard Bay.

A uniquely Australian experience.
